Prenuptial Agreement Ontario: Introducing the Prenup-O-Matic

Well, I’m pleased to announce that we have just launched our Prenup-O-Matic software.  It allows adults who are about to get married, or who are already married, to avoid financial obligations that may arise as a result of their marriage.  It deals with things like spousal support, ownership and division of property, ownership and ongoing expenses related to the matrimonial home (and what happens when that home is sold), estate entitlements and much more!  Just click on the link below to get started on creating your custom-tailored Ontario Prenuptial Agreement.  You can also use the Prenup-O-Matic to create a Marriage Contract (this is for already married adults).

Prenup-O-Matic: How it Works

Ok, so you’ve never seen anything like the Prenup-O-Matic and you’re probably wondering how it works, right? Well, the Prenup-O-Matic is an online software that takes you through a comprehensive and flexible questionnaire to ultimately create a custom-tailored .pdf Prenuptial Agreement or Marriage Contract.  Here are the specific steps below:

1. Click on the link above (the Prenup-O-Matic Wizard button)

After you click on the link above, you’ll be taken to the Prenup-O-Matic splash page.  You can read more about the Prenup-O-Matic and what it offers and when you’re ready to proceed, just click on the “Get Started” button again (the one with the owl!).

2. Register

Next, you’ll be asked to register for FREE.  Enter your email address, a made up password, your contact info (not mandatory) and the CAPTCHA code.  Don’t worry: we don’t send spam or sell your email information to anyone.  It’s all kept securely on our servers.  You can read up more about our security by clicking on “Security” at the top of this page.

3. Questionnaire

The next part involves going through the online questionnaire and filling out all the information to customize your Prenuptial Agreement or Marriage Contract.  It will typically take 30-60 minutes to complete this part, assuming you have all the information / documentation available.  You don’t have to finish in one sitting.  You can always come back and sign in and click “continue” to keep going through.  You also can edit for 90 days after you’re done everything in case you made a mistake or need to update your information.

So what kinds of questions will you be asked?  Well, it’s basically the types of things an Ontario lawyer would ask you when interviewing you in order to draft a Prenuptial Agreement or Marriage Contract.  These things include:

  • Identification of the parties
  • Whether the parties have children
  • Whether the parties are married
  • Support (spousal, not child)
  • Ownership and division of property
  • The matrimonial home (ownership, expenses related thereto, and selling it)
  • Estate Entitlements
  • Unjust enrichment
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution
  • Additional Clauses
  • And much more!

As you can see, the questionnaire is very comprehensive.  It took YEARS to develop.  And it is based on Ontario family law.  We try our best to make sure that our Prenuptial Agreement or Marriage Contract is comprehensive and flexible enough to accommodate your unique situation.

4. Preview

Next, you can see a partial preview of your Prenuptial Agreement or Marriage Contract.  You can see the entire .pdf Prenuptial Agreement or Marriage Contract after you proceed through payment, discussed next.

5. Payment

Payment is done through PayPal, which is safe and secure (accepts all major credit cards and no paypal account is required).  We do not store your credit card information on our website or servers ANYWHERE.

6. Download!

Here, you can download your custom-tailored .pdf Prenuptial Agreement or Marriage Contract, edit it by going back into the Prenup-O-Matic (free for 90 days; after that, there’s a nominal fee to edit for an additional 90 days), and read a comprehensive ebook about Prenuptial Agreements and Cohabitation Agreements (learn important legal issues about entering into these types of agreements).
